Job Description

Women for Women International focus has been on serving marginalized women through our programs (see background) and is now investing to strengthen gender equality and skills in the fight against GBV in Rwanda, delivering a complementary Men’s Engagement Program (MEP) under CARTIER Philanthropy.

The project’s aim is to demonstrate that effectively engaging men in WfWI’s tried and tested women’s empowerment program enhances positive outcomes and wellbeing for households.

WfWI-Rwanda desires to engage 2 independent contractors to facilitate a training of couples, on gender norm transformation that will help couples to change their behavior and act as change agents in their communities.

Job Requirements

 Under supervision of the Country Director,

We expect the following outputs:

  • 5 days’ Training of couples on gender norm transformation for 165 couples for CARTIER project from MAREBA Sector (BUGESERA District) grouped in 5 clusters (33 couples per group) in a series of five sessions (one session per day) So, the training will be for 25 days
  • In collaboration with the MEP Coordinator, submit the report at the completion of the trainings
  • The training is scheduled to start on 26th October 2020 up to 25th November 2020
  • The payment is Sixty thousand Rwandan Francs (60.000 RWF) per day Tax included after submission and approval of the final report.

 ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’ s degree in social sciences, Education including gender or law is required.
  •  Expertise in men engagement programming;
  • Expertise in women’s rights programming in Rwanda
  • Significant understanding of the cultural context of Rwanda
  • Training experience in conducting Men’s Engagement and couples’ workshops
  • Experience of working in rural area with community member
  • Experience in participatory methods;
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda.
  • Willing to be available during the training period
